There’s a new fictional indie flick about mushroom foragers on the east coast called “Now, Forager.” It’s out now and it’s got a limited theatrical release around the country (click here to see where). In Portland, it’s playing at the Living Room Theater until this Thursday, January 4, so I thought you might like to know!
I haven’t seen it myself, but it looks like it might be interesting from a mycological perspective. They got some nice shots of morels in there, after all.
If you’ve seen it, what did you think?

miss rebecca what would you recomend for depression ?
Interesting. It looks like it might be worth suffering through the plot for the mushrooms (I’m not big on fiction).
I have been so obsessed with mushrooms lately (eating a few, but mostly just looking) that I can hardly get interested in plants. I have never had it quite this bad before.
What kind of mushrooms are you finding this time of year, Nathan?
A lot of non edible saprophytes (wood decomposers) turkey tails, what I believe to be wood ear, and until the last round of cold oyster mushrooms.
Nowhere near me. Hopefully it’ll become a groundswell movement and wind up in more theatres. If you go to see it and like it, tell EVERYONE to get it going.
